Theatre for Tribal Children – Preserving Culture, Empowering Voices

Theatre for Tribal Children, an initiative by People’s Theatre Association (PTA), is dedicated to empowering indigenous children by integrating traditional stories, songs, and experiences into participatory theatre practices. This program provides tribal children with a creative and safe platform to express their thoughts, share their heritage, and raise awareness about the challenges they face in a rapidly changing world.

Through theatre workshops, local performances, and cultural storytelling, the initiative not only nurtures artistic skills but also strengthens community identity and intergenerational connection. Children are encouraged to explore their roots, language, myths, and everyday experiences—transforming them into powerful stage narratives.

This work fosters confidence, critical thinking, and collective pride among tribal youth while also creating visibility for their voices in mainstream cultural conversations. By honoring indigenous traditions and giving space to young storytellers, PTA continues its mission of building a more inclusive and just society—where every child, regardless of background, has the right to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
